This episode opens with a fierce confrontation between the male lead, Mu Silan, and the recently rescued female lead, Shen Wanyi, in a hospital ward. Mu Silan's words are cold, accusing Shen Wanyi of getting what she deserved, causing the already fragile Shen Wanyi to have an emotional breakdown. Subsequently, Doctor Ji Zishuo reveals to Mu Silan that Shen Wanyi's experiences 'inside' over the past five years have left her covered in injuries, malnourished, and suffering from a mental illness. Through a flashback, it is revealed that Shen Wanyi once confessed her feelings to Mu Silan but was rejected by him, who stated his heart belonged to someone else (Gu Xingyu). At the end, Shen Wanyi's adoptive father, Jiang Huaichuan, is critically ill, and her rival, Shen Mengyan, appears at the hospital, setting the stage for a new crisis in the plot.
