On the wedding night, Su Qingqing, the concubine daughter attending the bride, was found in a red wedding dress. The general mistook her for impersonating the legitimate elder sister, Su Manli, and suspected her of ulterior motives. The general tried to probe her with words, but Su Qingqing cleverly defended herself, asserting that everything was a coincidence. She then turned the tables, boldly confessing that her "purpose" for entering the mansion was her profound admiration for the general, a directness that made the general look at her in a new light. Meanwhile, the legitimate elder sister, Su Manli, who had been stranded on a mountain road, finally reached the general's mansion. To her dismay, the main gate was locked, and the butler instructed her to use the side entrance. Deeply humiliated and furious, this incident sets the stage for future conflicts.
