Plot of Episode 4

The episode opens with the female lead, Gu Anran, in a lowly position at home, publicly humiliated by Cheng Susu, the "childhood sweetheart" her husband Ye Jingyan brought home. Ye Jingyan not only forces Gu Anran to take care of Cheng Susu, who has mobility issues due to a "car accident," but also blames Gu Anran for it. At the dinner table, mother-in-law Ye further harasses Gu Anran, pouring her food to the dog and announcing that Cheng Susu will attend an important press conference as "Mrs. Ye." Gu Anran is then forced to sign divorce papers and is kicked out of the house.
