The episode opens with Gu Anran being publicly shamed by her mother-in-law, Mrs. Ye, as a useless good-for-nothing at the Ye family home, and compared to Ye Jingyan's childhood sweetheart, Cheng Susu. Cheng Susu appears humble but secretly boasts about how she can help Ye Jingyan's career. When Gu Anran exposes Cheng Susu's lie about having no acquaintance with her grandfather, Chairman Gu, Cheng Susu immediately plays the innocent victim, prompting her husband, Ye Jingyan, to push Gu Anran down. Later, Cheng Susu confronts Gu Anran in private, admitting that she drugged Gu Anran to facilitate her relationship with Ye Jingyan, revealing her vicious true colors.
