Amidst the chaos following an ambush, General Huo's deputy, Deputy Li, arrived, but only managed to rescue General's wife Wen Xinyue, while General Huo Ming himself went to rescue Miss Qu. Wen Xinyue harbored resentment for this. Deputy Li blew the bugle for help, but General Huo Ming, from afar, believed his subordinate's slanders, thinking it was another one of his wife's schemes, and ignored it. Just as Wen Xinyue felt despair and irony at her husband's indifference, she witnessed Huo Ming appearing, holding Qu Siying, confirming her fate of being abandoned, and the conflict reached its climax.
