Shen Jinchen is hospitalized with severe injuries from a car accident, with his fiancée Lin Sangyu diligently caring for him. Thoroughly disillusioned by Zhou Xitong's betrayal, Shen Jinchen promises Lin Sangyu she will be his only wife and insists the wedding proceed as scheduled. However, Zhou Xitong storms into the hospital room with her adopted brother, Zhou Yuxuan. Not only does she verbally insult Shen Jinchen as a "simp," but she also falsely accuses him of being intimate with Lin Sangyu. Even more absurdly, Zhou Xitong attempts to forcefully snatch the painkillers that the still-recovering Shen Jinchen is using, all to appease the feigning Zhou Yuxuan. Conflict between the two parties is imminent.
