Zhang Lin, a captain in the Demon Slaying Division, returns home to visit his seemingly ordinary father, Old Zhang (Zhang Xi). Old Zhang, in a playful tone, reveals the grave crisis of "the demon ancestor's birth" and expresses doubt about Zhang Lin's position in the Demon Slaying Division. Zhang Lin wants to take his father back to the capital for safety, but is stubbornly refused. During their conversation, Old Zhang mentions the "cat" accompanying Zhang Lin, introducing Bai Jingjing, a demon princess only Zhang Lin can see. Since his father cannot see Bai Jingjing, a series of misunderstandings and comedic interactions unfold, concluding with Old Zhang attempting to check the "cat's" gender, only to be angrily rebuked as a "lecher" by Bai Jingjing.
