On the day of the grand wedding at the Prince Ning's Mansion, Prince Ning, the groom, and everyone else awaited the bride, Bai Luting. Bai Luting's maternal uncle (Brother Liu) was present, boasting about his niece and disparaging her sister, Bai Luning. He was rebuked by Madam Dai from the Prince's Mansion, revealing that Prince Ning had always held the illustrious Bai Luning in high regard for her military achievements. Prince Ning seemed to harbor doubts about the wedding. When welcoming the bride, he deliberately set up a massive brazier, demanding the bride step over it to prove her courage, using this as a test and a challenge. Faced with a potentially fatal ordeal, the bride (who was actually Bai Luning), veiled in red, found herself in a dilemma, immediately creating suspense.
