Ding Changsheng leverages his identity as Kou Dapeng's godson to maneuver between Chen Biaozi and Kou Dapeng. He first pretends to invite Chen Biaozi and his wife to his home for drinks with his "godfather" Kou Dapeng, aiming to win over and lull Chen Biaozi into a false sense of security. He then boasts to Kou Dapeng, claiming to have handled Aunt Tian and promising to resolve the factory's debts. Kou Dapeng promises to promote Ding Changsheng to deputy factory director if he succeeds. Ding Changsheng uses this opportunity to further solidify his relationship with Chen Biaozi.
