This episode follows Ding Changsheng, a man from the lower strata of society. He seizes an opportunity after rescuing (or obtaining clues to the rescue of) Yang Fengxi, the kidnapped daughter of the county's richest man. With this leverage, Ding Changsheng boldly offers advice to Kou Dapeng, the mine owner facing a million-dollar funding gap for his mine. Ding Changsheng goes as far as to kneel and call Kou Dapeng "godfather," signing a contract to the death for a chance to turn his life around by joining Pengcheng Mining.
