Ding Changsheng arrives at the village bully Chen Biaozi's place and sees the kidnapped Yang family daughter, Yang Fengxi, working. Ding Changsheng attempts to flirt and get handsy with her, but Yang Fengxi resists and bites him. Enraged, Ding Changsheng slaps her. Chen Biaozi intervenes, stops them, and goes out to get medicine. Ding Changsheng uses this opportunity to test Yang Fengxi. Yang Fengxi promises a large sum of money for rescue and hands over her jade pendant as proof. Seeing the potential for profit, Ding Changsheng agrees to help, but Chen Biaozi suddenly returns, finding their actions suspicious.
